After reading some of the articles
on the Native Fish
Conservancy website, we collected a few small fish, plants, and other critters from Caddo Lake and set up a 20-gal. aquarium. We've enjoyed it so much, and Caddo Lake has so many
different kinds of fish, that we set up a second tank and a third and stocked
them with more native Caddo Lake fish.
So
far in our tanks, we've kept Bantam Sunfish, Dollar Sunfish, Warmouth (or
Goggle-eye), Swamp Darter, Blackstripe Topminnow, Starhead Topminnow,
Golden Topminnow and Ironcolor
Shiner. Other critters like the Crawfish and Freshwater
Prawns are also quite interesting.
